Ask You r Grocer CHEEK-NEAlS COFFEES best by [very Test AN EXCELLENT SUGGESTION We concur fully with the views of the writer of the following editorial clipped from the Beaufort Gaxette. A fair entails a vai*. amount of capi tal. and instead of the four counties comprising the Southern Carolina Association each endeavoring to have a county fair, necessarily on a small scale, how much better it would be for them all to combine and have one big fair: one that would contrast favorably with the best. The article follows; A Southern Carolina Fair. A Southern Carolina Fair is pro posed by Colleton County. They have conducted a county fair for sev eral seasons and have accomodations they say. to take car* of the four counlies. The date set follows the State Fair.so that the exhibits sent to Columbia ran be brought back to be used in Walteyboro where thous ands who cannot get to the capital city can see them. I^t us have a fair for the four counties by all mea^g. It Is one of the things that tlfe Southern .Caro lina Association should push.—Beau fort County Leader. SOUTHERN CAROLIN A' FAIR PROPOSED It has been proposed by the secre- atry of the Colleton County Fair Association that instead of the coun ty fair being held in Walterhoro on November 7-10 , as was originally planned that the fair become a Southern Carolina fair, which date comes very soon after the State Fair In Columbia. Though w P have had very little opportunity to discuss this matter with the people of the coun ty as far as we have gone the Idea has met with approval. Directly from the State Fair the Jasper coun ty exhibit can be sent to Walterhoro and be h*ld until the fair opens. It is thought that this increasing the ‘scope of the fair will materially in crease the interest and the benefits resulting therefrom would be great- er. Colleton has a well equipped fair association and would be able to handle exhibits of any magnitude that might come from the three ex tra counties that are members of the* Southern Carolina Assoyation. The buildings are large and comfortaH'' and the stables, etc., and the race tra<k. which was a quarter of a mile long is now being made into a half mile track. It being a well known fact that there are a number of fast horses throughout the section em braced by the four counties. The editor of the Herald has at tended the last three fairs held in Walterhoro and ran vouch for the ffees* of the grounds and buildings for the holding of such a fair and the grounds are sufficiently large to take care of the larpe crowd that wo'uld doubtless issue from the coun ties Interested. , At present Colleton Is the only county in the association that hold- a countv fair and it Is thought that ruch a fair would do the other coun ties as well as C ol let on NimtfTFtVhvbl;' good. The editor of th'* Jasper Herald looks with favor upon the proposi tion and will do all within his powet to aid in its materialization.—Jasper Herald. For Inftmti and Children.
