SIM .75 .44 Saturday th* State rampairn par ty will addreM the voter* of Colle ton county at Walterboro. It I* the privilege of every peraon in the county to come out and hear the speaker*. In faet It l* well that ev ery voter stvoifTtl do so, and see for himself the kind of men who are offering for position* in the State government. This I* the sole rea son and excuse for a continuance of the county-to-eounty canv^sa which ha* become fixed, and we think properly so. In th* politic* of this State. Office seekers are men the same aa the rest of us. and should be Judged as other men seeking po sitions are judged—by their fitness for the officer No man would want to employ a man to sork for hitn unless he should see him, and no man should want to employ a man to act as his public servant until he has seen him and siced him up. and noted his fitness for the position sought. Therefore, we trust as many vot ers a* possible shall^* present Sat urday to hear the candidates for State office apeak and set forth their qualifications for the office sought. These should come aa ob- serving seekers after truth, and not as partisan critics. A respectful hearing should be given every can didate as long as he remains re spectful to his auditors ( but If any candidate should forget himself so far a* to indulge in unfair or Im proper method* to injure an oppon ent or to lower the plane of the meeting, he should ndt be allowed to proceed further. 8o far the Btat« campaign has been conducted on a high plane and we trust It shall so continue till the close. Colle- tonians should see to ft that it is so conducted next Saturday in Wal terboro. I.<e! the audie wish. treat our guests with all courtesy and respect. wwwWwww W W W W..W W W V W J.
