NOTICE!
I would like to make the County
Campaign meetings pleasant and
profitable this summer. The execu
tive committee will soon meet to des
ignate the meeting places. We want
to have our usual itineracy, but
would like to go tp only those places
where a campaign meeting is desired
by the people of the community.
Could not the citizens of each com
munity. where a meeting is desired
arrange for a picnic dinner on the
ground and see to it that everybody,
including the ladies, come? Our
meetings ought to be made educa
tional. pleasant and profitable, oth
erwise we should not have them.
Nor should meetings be held where
the citizens take no interest in them
and do not want them.
I shall be glad to have the offi
cers of the various clubs or any oth
er citizens or organizations of the
several communities take the matter
up at once w4tb the people and
write me on the subject, so that
when the committee meets about two
weeks from now , we shall * know
where to hold meetings.

I gue«* it is no surprise to know

1 could not pass the Press and

I missed you, but notwithstanding. 1
notice in today’* issue your crowded
eblumns. I venture to risk a few
plain dots of my travel from Orange
burg down here. „ The corn crop was
never more promising, considering
the amount of fertilizer used, while
the cotton was never less promising.
At my own section it Is pretty good
as \ve planted early and trot stands,
but from Happens bridpo back horn-
there isn’t a half stand and where
there is U looks like 20 cent cotton.
When l reached Hound I met anoth
er ‘cotton trouble, as Ben Kas-
teriin. Lee Guess and Guy Pjrfoak all
have what wg call cotton wilt and it
looks friphtful to me. as they tell
me that they have found no remedy
to check it. I need not say more of
my own pleasure f,r folks I hare
visited, as tny coming is proof of
how I fare. Even at this writing I
am in the midst of a bevy of fine
