LODGE SCHOOL CLASS HISTORY Story of ( lass 1016 Written by Him \ era .Iordan—P.-ogram of Commencement. Lodge. May 15.—The following history of the graduating class of the Lodge High school was written l>y Miss Vera Jordan, and in addition to the history of the class gives a program of the closing exercises which will take place at Lodge the latter part of this week. The history follows: > On October the fifth, nineteen hundred and fifteen, our school be gan with three of the most efficient teachers that could be selected, and since that day our school has been progressing In every wag. For our teachers have done all they could to make this year a successful one. Now we hate to bid them farewell, for they have taught us to follow the path of righteousness as well as our books. On February 21 we had a very interesting entertainment, which represented George Washington’s birthday, and everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves very Auch. Then w e have been preparing for final examinations, which will begin on May 16th, and we hope to prove that we have not lost a whole term by coming to our teacher, Prof. C. C. Garris. After examinations we will try to entertain the people of the com munity and visitors with an Inter esting entertainment on May 19, 20 and 21. May the 19th, which is on Friday night, we will have music, two drills, two short plays, several recitations and a dialogue by two small children. Saturday night is the graduating night, and Hon. M. P. Howell; of Walterboro, will deliver the gradu ating address. Then we will have the history by tflss Blanche Jones; prophecy by Mr. Laurie Fender; will, by Miss Pattle MHey, and vale dictory, by Miss Vera Jordan. Af ter the exercises we will have an ad dress by Prof. C. C. Garris. Bundsv morning. May 21, Dr. W. W. Daniel?, president of Columbia Female College, will be with us at the Methodist church. Two of the infants died at birth, but the other two seem to be doing nicely.
