Greenville.—”1 am an optimist, al ways an optimist," said George Vi'. Neville, formerly president of the New York cotton «xclitiaige. The Htatement was made recently when Mr. Neville was asked concerning the business conditions of the nation. He w'as in Greenville on a busines visit to C. S. Webb, his partner. Discoursing upon the outlook, Mr. Neville said that the New York hank ers saw n6 bugaboo in the new cur rency law, that they were very hope ful concerning the outlook for busi ness, and especially welcomed, that section of the federal reserve act which provides that the government shall recognise commercial paper as collateral. Hitherto, said the speak er, commercial paper haa been an “un digest ible lump, so far as the ultimate banker is concerned.” Now this lamp is an asset, more than ever before.
