CLOSES SATURDAY, MAY 17, A Few More Days in Which to Work for the Beautiful Piano-Last Strug* gle for Capital Prize now at its •Hard Work Will win the LEGAL ADVERTISING NOTK’K OK ADDITIOXAL TAX. The Press and Standard Piano Voting contest is nearing its close and as the time for the Anal count and awarding of the prizes ap proaches the interest in the outcome Is unprecedented, the whole com munity being stirred from center to circumference. The young ladies realize that it is now or never—that the time has finally come for thcytinal dash down the home stretch, and with the beau tiful Obermayer A Sons’ piano and other valuable prizes before them they are working As never before. It is no longer a catch-as-catch-can contest, but a rousing, systematic hand-to-hand battle of ballots. The contestants realize that to the victor belongs the spoils, and that each young lady lined up for the final dash is an opponent that will require some tall hustling to overcome. The young ladies are working cautiously and playing the game with all the diplomacy of trained politicians. Friends are being organ ized for the grand finale, the next few working days of the contest will show as pretty a race as the peo ple of this town have ever seen. From hiats dropped along the wayside it is evident there will be some big surprise when the final count is an nounced. No one but The contestants themselves know how' many votes one may have unvoted. There is always a*povsibility of “some dark horse coming under the wire ahead in the field” with a bunch of votes that have been held back. Contestants in the lead should not rest on their oars at this stage of the game in the belief that they have the race cinched. A contestant far in the rear may dump in. a bunch of votes at the last sufficient to sweep aside all opposition. The piano, no doubt, will be won and lost many times iu the next few days. Some of tho» making a seemingly poor showing now, undoubtedly, will at the last give the leaders a run for their money. These lagging ones are say ing nothing but doing a lot of wood sawing. Nothing Worth having was ever gained without some effort and a $400.00 piano is not to be picked up any day. This is a prize worthy of the most strenuous efforts of any yqung lady and the contestant who is wise will expend every ounce of her energy in scouring the country fiao for votes from now until thei close of the contest. The one who wins the piano wili be the one who mar shalls herVorces the most effectively and who hurls every ounce of he voting strength into the arena at the final count. YOUNG LADIKS, REMEMBKR that when you go home on the even ing of May 17. with a beautiful $400.00 Obermeyer & Sons piano tucked under your arm all your hard work and worry will be fogotten. It Is an opportunity that comes but once in a lifetime.* Tell these friends who have told you and promised you before the contest closes to help you that the time has now come for them o • to make good their promise, and that they should rally to your sup port in these closing days. The bonus in effect from now un til the final count on May 17, will be as follows: For every 7 new subscribers 8,* 000 extra votes making a total of 12,200. For every seven renewal subscrip tions we wij! give 6,000 extra vote*, making a total of P.500 votes. For every seven back subscrip tions we will give 4,000 extra votes, making a total of 6,800. \ For every forty .therchant’s cou pons. 2,000 extra vote6. a total of 3,000 votes. For every three 5 year, new or renewal subscriptions 25,000 extra votes, making a total of 40,000 votes. For every 2 twenty-year subscrip tions. new or renewal. 75.000 extra votes, a total<of 135.000 Votes. Special. The three five-year subscriptions may be for either one, two or three parties and the two 20-year subscrip tions may be for either one or two parties.
