The cotton sales day arranged for Thursday of each week by the mer chants Of the town Is proving emi nently satisfactory. Last Thursday was a record break ing day for cotton selling gt Walter boro, several hundred bales being brought to market and bringing top prices.. There was some lively bid ding and altogether these sellers were well satisfied. Dr. Daniel to Lecture. Lodge. Nov. 6.—Special: Dr. J. W. Daniel, presiding elder of the Charleston district will delivef a lecture here , on Nov. 12th and at Cross Swamp chorch nh the night of ■ the 13 th. His subject will be “The Southern Mule.” Dr. Daniel is a very entertaining lecturer and doubtless those who attend will b« well repaid.
