K> Q. Let us coosider the Floating Frame. It is a solid square frame with no joints or hinges to wear and allow the cutter bar to get out of line with the pitman. It is the only frame on which the balance wheel and knife head are in the same relative position at all times, re gardless of the movements of the cutter bar. As the pitman angle never changes* all posi- bility of cramping is eliminated. Being freely suspended on the mainjaxle and not rigidly attached to the pole the frame is independent of the movements of the team. The pole is bolted to a heavy casting, which is hinged to the frame at the rear.
