Mr. Shuptrlne has been in a crit ical condition for several days, and the members fo his family had been summoned, and he passed away sur rounded by his loved ones. ^ Mr. Shuptrlne was the first pres ident of the Savannah Druggists' Association, and was at one time president of the Georgia Pharma ceutical Association, and he was the treasurer of the association tor many years, resigning last June on account of his failing health. Mr. Shuptrlne was born in 1850, on the homestead plantation in Ef fingham county. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. Shuptrlne. The family is one of the oldest in Georgia. Nicholas Shurtrir«e, the founder of the present family mov ed in this country from Salibiirg, Germany in 1734, settling in Effing ham county. The family has always lived there. Mr. Shuptrlne was educated in Liberty county and moved to Sa vannah, entering a drug store as clerk, when he was 20 years old Seven years later he went in busl ness for himself, and at the time of his death was operating both a wholesale and retail drug and seed business. He was the first presi dent of the Savannah Retail Drug gists’ Association and was one of the mpst prominent druggists in the s' Survived By Wife Ami < liihlrcn Ih 1876 he married .Miss Sarah S.
