will use it that suits him. Just let
it be a lesson to you in the future,
ghd it will not be t6o dearly paid for
if it sticks. The newspapers in South
Carolina are honest and straight*
foward. impersonal and patriotic.
They have nothing to gaic and much
to lout in taking a position antago
nistic to any office seeking politician
for such men always make the news
papers pay dearly for their honesty
with the people.. They have been
hounded down, boycotted, and their
editors martyred by just such people,
and they have never yet, and never
will receive a single atom of appre
ciation or reward from those whom
they serve. Put more confidence in
the integrity and the disinter-
eetedness of your newspaper i» the
future, and by respecting it. compel

will be your best friend and guide.
It it never the enemy of any man

from spite. We think that the
newspapers in South C-arolina will
be more resjtected after this experi
ence. The people needed the medi

MOON FARMING.
“Please tell me the best time
of the moon to plant corn, cotton,
or potatoes." The beat time '
the moon to plant, anything ifc
when your soil is iti good order
to work and has been well pre
pared, and it is the proper sea
son for planting the, crop. The
moon has nothing to do with the
jnatter, while the man behind
the plow who uses his brains and
farms well has all to do with it.
We need to use our brains and
energy and study in farming,
and let the moon go on her way
and light the nights.-Progres
