Winthrop needs her auditorium enia^l^dt The" Freshman ("lass had to lie sent home last June because the Auditorium could not accommodate them, along w ith the Commencement visitors. And the same thing is likely to ham>en this year. The Infirmary needs larger tjuarters. It was built Vhen the enrollment of ihe College was 350. The present enrollment tA 700, so that the Infirmary ought to be at least twice as large. It could be enlarged at compara tively small cost. Winthrop needs a Science Building for the use of the De partments of Domestic Sciehct. Chemistry, Manual Training, Elementary Agriculture, etc. The Legislature recently appro priated funds for the erection of a Science Building for the Un»- versity.o It should do as much for Winthrop. The State baa always been partial to its ^Institu- tions of learning for young men; it is time that Winthrop should be favored. The appropriathiuft to Winthroj) College, the only State College for women in South Carolina! is less than one- third as much as the appropria tions to the University. Clem son. and the Citadel.
