I MONEY TO CUT. . The Press and Standard had a novel experience one day last week, and the first experience of the kind in the county, -• It was cutting thou sands of dollars in' currency on the paper cutter. The matter came aboyt in this wise. The First Nation al Bank of Walterboro issues its own currency, which is printed in Wash ington by thto government. This is sent out in sheets t>f four bills which have to be cut apart and this is how The Prere and Standard came to have this novel experience. It h none the lew a novel thing for Colle ton County to be using home-made money. The law gives national banks the privilegs of issuing cur rency to the amount of thmr capita) stock. So there are now several thousand doHars of Colleton County money in circulation. And yet some of our people wish to go to Bamberg County where they cannot make money. OTHER CIRCUS ROBBERIES. It has developed that there were others robberies perpetrated circus day besides that f rom the Misses Mc- Teer mentioned in last week’s paper. The home of Hon. Jas. E. Peuri foy was entered and two savings banks, belonging to his children were broken into and robbed, and a valuable gold bracelet, which had just been presented to Mrs Peurifoy by Mr, Peurifoy, was also taken. The home of M rs. E. O. B. Gibbs was also broken into and some money, two rings, one of which was a much prized diamond ring, and a S old locket, belonging to Miss Sadie Bryan, were stolen. There seems to he little doubt that the perpetrator of \hese robberies was a follower of the circus, though there are those who seems to think that it is the work of local talent.
