The evening of the 19th inat. brought sadness to many hearts, the death angel has again visited our home and has claimed for his victim, our beioved Saiiie. She was taken in prime of life, age 31 years, 9 months and 19 days. Mrs. Martin was cofined to her bed thre? months. Dr. A. W. Hud son, assisted by Dr. Ben Padgett, did all in their power to restore her to health, but failed, Dr. Hudson, thought at one time, tha she could be restored to much wanted health* but the all wise Providence prevailed. Mrs. Martin connected herself in early years with the Great Swamp Baptist Church, where she was a consistent member. She leaves a devoted husband, and three children, Ida May, Joe Henry, Strickland and Leurine Martin, and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Mrs. Martin was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ramsey. Mrs. Martin was married twice, first to Mr. Jos. H. Strickland, in the early part of 1894. They were married 3 years; 9 months and 20 days, having born to them three children, Ida May, Henry Milton; and Joe Henry. Henry Milton died a few months before his father in 1897. Mr. Strickland died in the later part of 1897. In 1907 she married W. W. Martin. They were married nearly two years when she departed this life. To them was born one little girl, Leurine. On the morning of the 19th, the deceased called her mother Mrs. Ramsey, asking her to take Ida May and Joe Henry, home with her ask ing Mr. Henry Martin her grand father to take little Leurine, and both Mrs. Ramsey and Mr. Martin did a»she requested. Rev. Graham, pastor of the de ceased sister, conducted the funeral services Wednesday, at her home near Ruffin, and her remains were laid to rest in the Strickland ceme tery. by the side of her first husband. ° \ A loved one from us has gone. | A voice we loved is stilled. We especially sympathize, with the bereaved husband and children in this sad hour, the parting will only Ik 1 for a short time if the hus band and children will live the life of the deceased. It’s hard to part 'tistrue, but God’s will, not ours be done. This loved one stated to her fami ly that she was ready to meet her God. This statement is gratifying to her many many loved ones. We imag ine how happy her father is, to have dear, dear Sallie with him. Dear Sallie, we miss the so much.
