URGE COMPULSORY SCHOOL LAW
To the Editor of The News
and Courier: That the action
of the Cotton Manufacturer’s
Association, taken at their re

reference to a compulsory
school law, may be clearly un

the resolutions adopted, which
are as follows:
Resolutions: First the As-

there be passed a general com

ing the compulsory education
of children under fourteen
years of age.
Second—That provided
there be passed such compul
sory education law, this Asso^

objection to advancing, under
proper limitations and restric
tions, the a<:e limit of children
working in textile mills and
other industries to an age to
comply with the general com

The Cotton Manafactures
believe that the best way to

by a general compulsory school

of a general compulsory school

years, but they oppose any
compulsory school law limited
only to the residents of mill
villages.
