To comply with these condi tions will necessitate the erection of a 70,000 gallon tank or reservoir, the extension of the large water mains and the organization of afire depart ment. To get these things will re quire the expenditure of more money than the waterworks com mittee has on hand or can secure. It is therefore, very opportune that this movement is on and we trust those promoting it will have no trouble in securing the requisite number of signatures. Another thing which should com mend this petition to the business men of the town is that it carries a provision that the license on busi- peases be repealed after 1909, the objects of such license being met by | this bond issue. The necessity for a prompt completion of this matter is easily seen, and we trust freehold ers will think before the petition is presented and be ready to sign.
