important for a college; and in this
respeck Gainesville can not be im
proved on. It is located In the heart
of the mountain country, on what is
known as the “Piedmont escar
pment;” the ccdebrated” Oconee
White Sulphur Springs’Ties a shoit
distance awqy; and just at hand is
beautiful Lake Waner, made to order
by “backing up” the waters of the
Chattahoochee river for a distance
of eight or ten miles. In such a
charming region, the college girl
has “playgrounds’Tn plenty to
chose from; and they seem to be
encouraged to avail themselves to
the utmost of such advatges, judg
ing from the freqent excursion par
ties of Brenau students.
The equipment of t he college it
handsome and thoroughly modern
and complete. Lying within fifty
miles of'Atlanta, the students have
the chance to attend lectures,
concerts, etc., in that city, and do to
frequently, although Brenau itself
attracts to its own chapel the best
available talent in performances of
this kind. „ ,
Although the literary courses of
this college are equal to those of
any other college for women of
which we know, the advantages in
music and oratory are really very
exceptional, indeed Brenau claima
