R. Christman and Miss Ma mie Hiers, and a Solo, ‘‘Face to Face”, by Miss Leila Garris. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Leila Smoak Garris. Miss Mamie Hiers leaves to day for v visit of a few weeks to Allendale and her for mer home in Georgia. Mr. J. B. Smoak of Branchville spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L Smoak. \ We are glad to welcome Mr. and Mrs. S. P. J. Garris, Jr. of Denmark back to Smoaks as residents. Mr. Garris has just completed a hand some new dwelling near his father’s and his family came last week. Smoaks is at last in telephone communication with the outside world. Several ’phones from the Branchville line have been put in re cently. Why does notthe Walterboro line come this way? We are sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Fred Padgett last Sunday.
