I0°<S i f Whv not say a good word for your town V Let every mnn, woman and child in^ Wnlterboro nssiat the bcaird of health in keeping the town free from mosquitoes other can sea of disenw. an Wht n you go away for the summer •peak a good word for your town or <*>nnty. A great ninny good things can Le said abfiut Walterboro and Colleton County which people living in other uectionsdo not know. Why not tell it? The best medical experta have agreed that the mosquito la the main cans# of malaria If this ia true, the people •ought to be very careful to sea that there are no pools of water, barrels, cans or any place that can breed moa- sjuitoes. It is very little trouble to look After these matters, bnt many people never think to look for caueea of fever until some member of the family la down with it. Now ia the time to look After the moaquito. The State campaign meeting in -Wal. terboro last Thursday was a tame affair. There were so many candidates to apeak that none of them were able to do jus tice to themselves nor to the subjects they undertook to diacnas. The idea of a candidate for governor trying to dis cuss the issues before the people in 20 minutes is ridiculous. Bnt such is the inevitable result of having so many can didates and so manv counties to cover. We suppose that the people had enough though, when they got through. We are glad to be able to report that the meeting in Charleston in the inter est of the draining proposition was well attended. From the interest manifested, we believe that practical resalts will be obtained. We again call npon all patri- * otic citizens to lend their influence and aid in this great work. Oolleton needs drainage more than any other one thing. Reclaim the rich low lands, improve sanitary conditions, and yon will have benefits that can not be calculated in dollars and cents. Senator Tillman announced in an ad dress to the people that he will Dot go aronnd on the regular state campaign, but will speak at various places through out the State upon invitation of the peo. pie of such places. His objection to going around with the campaign party is that be would not have time to dla- cosa the issues. He prefer* to make his own campaign in his own way. We would suggest that Senator Tillman be invited to Oolleton and that our people be given an opportunity to hear him. Mr Lumpkin, hie opponent, was not here last week at the regular campaign meeting and it would be well to invite him to be present at the mme time. When a store yearly patronized by greater numbers of people; when it continually grows in the esteem and favor of the community in which it is located; when people come miles and miles out of their way in order to trade at that store, there must be strong reasons, and this is precisely the case ot the H. W. Cohen Store. The bigness and the variety of the stock we carry; our up-to-dateness in bringing to you the finest and newest styles; our careful, painstaking, conscientious treatment of all customers; and, above all, our policy ot selling on the very closest margins and at the very low est prices, for spot cash——these are the factors that are causing this business to continually grow bigger and more popular. Styles Are Perfect; . * **, Values Are Irresistable. c ^ - 1 O In Summer Clothing for Men and Boys we offer a succession of the most perfect styles and most irresistable values ever seen in Walter boro. We show Mens Suits and Boys Suits in every correct cut and color of the season the brightest, freshest, newest sort of apparel. At whatever price you choose to pay we can sell you a better-looking, better-fitting and better-made Suit than can be had for the same price anywhere else in this section. The same is true of separate Pants or separate Unlined Coats for hot weather,, or of any other garments we handle. We both buy and sell for cash. No one can underbuy us or undersell us. Any store that gives credit must necessarily ask much more than our prices, in order to protect itself. We can readily prove to you the absolute supremacy of our values if you will come and look through our stock provided, of course, you are a fair judge of goods. I I THE EXPERIMENTAL STAGE PASSED.
