THURSDAY. DECEMBER 22, 1921. Our subscription list to the can-' nery enterprise continues Jto grow. We infnd to set the 100 subscribers. It is not going to be any great job tc get the subscriptions. The more wt study the problem the more we believe the enterprise will ]4ay a reasonable dividend and, better still, the LAI. A.. ILO on^wAm :ii U neip iaj wiv cvuiiv/ win uu liivnuuiauic. It is a move in the right direction Everyone tells us that. We urge upon farmers and business men, all forward looking men, the necessity of helping this move. Phone us or bring us your subscription for one share?$50. The cr?zv fanatics who are engaged in the birth control movement are wasting their time and they are wasting the time of others. No telling just what turn fanatical reformers will next take. Instead of attempting to do something that will really help, these fanatics are always dabbling into something they have no business meddling with. We need not worry about too many children being bom into the world. What we need is that all those born should have a fair start and an opportunity to make good. This is to be accomplished by education and by- religion. Teachers of moral law are doing more to uplift humanity than will ever be done by all other agencies combined. What the world needs is less poverty, less oppression, less wickedness and not less children. Think of the great ~??rld need of work, the great things to be done, the sparsely set*at? ~f the earth's surface, "'hese fools who are \ many children ?!|d. They are are. crazy. " ^ We Vjding J Oloi j /uld .st begin. are now .faing great. ' ~ .unitless. It will little more to operate a collecting agency along with we cannery. With proper refrigeration and a little more room every pound of cream that could be collected daily throughout the county could be handled by the cannery. If farmers can dispose of the cream and feed the skimmed milk to hogs they will be pursuing the best known metho<h of soil building and at the same time they will be constantly receiving a little cash money to run upon. There is no aort of doubt about this. Along with our cannery we can handle all Che cream sent in. One man said he did not see how a cannery, run three months in the year could be a paying proposition. But why run only three months in the year when you live in a county that . can grow fresh vegetables eigh * months in the year. This is one of the marked advantages we will have Iover sections that have a short summer and one crop. Besides, we will by cold storage, be able to run practically every day in the entire twelve months. We can find a way to be in continuous operation. By a little enp couragement and a bit of instruction p the farmers will cooperate and grow ^ the crops we need. They will be u only too glad to find a way out of their own difficulties. t , I *%*/% \,, Mxmm* .y ~jrjj ajflBn^BmHR A ??^h^ / HnH^f " 4; <'' ^ , ^ ' . , yh~^c ijffi Char eat say* modi of the disrepect for law (rows oat of its raalidmtolstTstton. * Our cat says fulsome praise is often a forerunner of rabid condemns-don. * Our cat says singencey in financial matters develops many tyrants among money lenders, and, likewise, many knaves among money borrowers.
