Mur dcr stalks abroad; rapine, arson, rob ber*? and every conceivable crime are rampant. We are now reaping th< har -?sts of yer-s of sowing. The sanctity of inar riage no longer prevails in the mind? of many. The radical in government has filled the earth with his voice an. flooded it with his writings. He, too has gone unrebuked, and the harvest is at hand?disobedience to law, contempt for the courts and a brazei spirit of rebellion against law. The radical in religion has waxed bold. He has mocked at spiritua' verities and planted his insults in the' face of God, and today we are reap ing the harvest. TJi molested, unrebuked, openly and brazenly men havi ridiculed the religion of the fathers and have set up altars to strange godi and we are now reaping the harvest. Having turned away from the onl} true God, they have set up demon worship and gods made by humar hands. They have pulled down the altars of the true God and act up altars to false gods, or neglected to build any altars whatsoever. Having departed from the observance of the Sabbath they find themselves violating all the commandments of the catalogue. The advocates of Sunday baseball and Sunday selling did not intend it, but they have helped to cultivate a harvest of evil that threatens to engulf the world. The lax moralist throws a sop to his conscience by giving alms to the widow and the orphan. He little realizes that the fruit of his own sowing will rob the widow and orphan and pull down tht shelter that is over their heads. Men do not seem to be able to realize it but it is true: it is easier to pull dowr. than to build up. Any fool can daub smudges of paint upon a masterpiece and mar its beautv forever. The radical 3hould be regarded with suspicion. and his motives should be brought to the light of day. Cold logic should dissect his half baked ideas and his brazen effrontery should be vigorously rebuked. The radical is a destroyer, not a builder; he is an ads'enturer, not a discoverer; he is often utterly selfish, godless and is blindly groping his way. Having abandoned the old paths he is blindly trudging through the impenetrable forest. Folow him not, save with greatest caution. Believe him not, for he has no new truths to proclaims.
