Si A most interesting meeting of the * Woman's Missionary society was held Tuesday afternoon at the church. Mrs. ^ Cantey, the leader, had prepared an excellent programme and those presJ ent enjoyed it to the fullest. The g city of New Orleans was the subject for study, and many facts regarding! . this romantic city were brought out! ' in an enjoyable paper prepared and! t ' read by Mrs. Move Di-ckinson. This was a heart rending story of starving and freez Iing people, in a land wnere moinersi are drowning their children to save! ? them from the agony of starvation or selling them for 50 cents a piece to ( some one who can feed them. MAN KILLED BY BANDITS. Lnother Mortally Wounded in Parlor of Hotel. Mrs. Burden and her daughter, liss Florrie Burden, nineteen, were be other members of the party. The bandits made their escape in n automobile left parked convenmtjy in front of the hotel. The night ras warm and the door leading into he yard wras open. Suddenly two lasked men stepped quietly into the oom and covered the party with reolvers, telling them to make no outry and to hand over their valuables. Shot Through Heart. Goodrich and Burden thought the ffair a joke perpetrated by fellow uests and began to jest writh the wo men. The bandits fired with he first move. Goodrich being hit hree times, one of the shots penerating his heart. He died instantly. Burden sustained two bullet rounds in the abdomen. Physicians ay his case is hopeless.
