N , Missionary Meeting.
Si
A most interesting meeting of the
* Woman's Missionary society was held
Tuesday afternoon at the church. Mrs. ^
Cantey, the leader, had prepared an
excellent programme and those presJ
ent enjoyed it to the fullest. The g
city of New Orleans was the subject
for study, and many facts regarding! .
this romantic city were brought out! '
in an enjoyable paper prepared and!
t ' read by Mrs. Move Di-ckinson. Miss! ^
I N*dl McCants read short sketches of ~
I two of New Orleans's famous people,
I and Mrs. G. W. Cope read an inter- .
P esting story of "St. Mark's, the House !
I of Neighborly Love." Mrs. Laurie
1^" Smoak sang "The Holy City," which
| was enjoyed by all. After this Mrs.
L- John Jones read an account of Bishop

rending story of starving and freez
Iing people, in a land wnere moinersi
are drowning their children to save! ?
them from the agony of starvation or
selling them for 50 cents a piece to
( some one who can feed them. A free
: will offering was taken to be sent to
\ help feed these people, and any other
lady who was not ^present at this
meeting and wishes to give something
to the cause, can bring it to the social .
