BAILEY DEFEATS CARLISLE. ,
Green Cadets Ontpiint the Bamberg
Eleven.
In a game of foot ball here Friday
afternoon, Bailey defeated Carlisle
school 14 to 0. It was a thrilling
contest and one of the best played
here in years. The first touchdown
came in the first three minutes of
play. An exchange of punts between
Williams and Cooper put the ball on
Carlisle's ten yard line. Lilliard
passed to Rice, who went over the
goal line, Cooper kicking goal. The
second touchdown was registered in
the last minute of play. Lilliard in
tercepted a pass near his own goal
line and ran 80 yards for a touchdown.
Cooper kicked goal. The inability
of the locals to return Cooper's
long punts is largely responsible
for their defeat. Carlisle threatened
to score several times and played
Bailey a tight game all the way
through.

HERXDOX.
The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

She was loved by ail who knew her,
and she leaves a brother, father and
mother to mourn her death, besides

her community. She was always ready
to smile at anyone; she was so pleasing
and loving a little girl. Her little
voice and footsteps are so vacant at
home.

I But we hope to meet our loved one
On that bright ^nd happy shore.
Lonely the house, and sad the hours
Since our dear one has gone;
But, oh! A brighter home than ours,
In heaven is now her own.
But we have losNour darling baby;
She has bid us all adieu;
She has gone to live in heaven,
And her form is lost to view.
Oh! That dear one, how we lovea ner:
Oh! How hard to give her up;
But an angel came down for her, !
And removed her from our home.
