We believe if the plans and purposes of the association were more generally understood there would be a much larger membership than we have, consequently for a better understanding we will mention outline of general aims and purposes of the association which are about as follows: To protect the interests of the cotton producer and to better his condition. 2:'''. To promote economic regulations o cotton production to the end thr.t supply shall be so adjusted to demand that the producer at no time shall be required to sell his product at less than a fair and a reasonable profit. 3rd. To promote intelligent diversification of crops, and to develop markets for such crops, other than cotton, as may be profitably raised. 4th. To improve and enlarge presently existing warehousing facilities and to secure additional facilities to the end that the producer may carry his crop or such part as he may desire at the minimum or expense and physical damage and at the maximum of securitv and financiabilitv. nth. To broaden the markets for raw cotton and to enlarge the uses of cotton and cotton goods. 6th. To improve and increase transportation and distribution facilities. 7th. To collect information as to both domestic and foreign consumption of cotton, the state of trade, the extent of acreage, supply and condition of crop and all other information 3f practical interest to cotton industry, and to disseminate the results through the several sub-organizations to every member of every community, together with directions as to the course to he pursued in order to se cure the best results in view of the Information disclosed.
