KAISER BILL KICKED OUT EMPEROR AND CROWN PRINCE SIGN ABDICATION. Germany in Throes of Revolution, Put End to Autocracy.?Kaiser Flees to Holland. November 11.?William Hohenzollern, the abdicated German Emperor i and King of Prussia, and his eldest son, Frederick William, who hoped some day to rule the German people, are reported to have fled to Holland. The revolution which is in progress ' throughout Germany, although it seemingly is a peaceful one, prob*. ably threw fear into the hearts of the former Kaiser and the Crown Prince and caused them to take asylum in a neutral state. Wilhelm II, reigning King of the Monarchy of Wuttemberg, is declared tn have abdicated Friday night, and reports have it that the Grand Duke of (Hesse, ruler of tne Grand Duchy of Hesse, has decreed the formation of a Council of State to take over the government there. Every dynasty in Germany is to be suppressed and all the princes-exiled, according , to Swiss advices. People's Government. People's governments have been established in the greater part of Berlin and in other cities of the kingdom and empire. Leipzig, Stuttgart, Cologne, Essen and Frankfort have joined the revolution. In Berlin there has been some fighting between the ?,W revolutionists and reactionaries in - which several persons were killed or :>' wounded. *The palace of the Crown Prince has been taken over by the revolutionists. "Long live' the republic" and singing of "The Marseillaise" j have been heard in the streets of Berlin. | Friedrich Ebert, the Socialist lead- i er, has been appointed imperial chanAAiinr and has issued a proclamation saying that it is his purpose to form a people's government which will endeavor to bring about a speedy peace. Terms Reach Spa. Meanwhile the terms of the Allies, by which Germany may have an ar v S mfstice, have reached fcerman headquarters by courier, but thus far there is no indication that a reply has been received by Marshal Foch. Whether the terms have been sent , H 7 on to Berlin for action by the new * chancellor is problematical. The v; limit for a reply expires Monday. ' 1 On the battle front the Germans J C - everywhere continue to suffer defeat . at the hands of the British, French f>' arid American forces. x - ' ' y In the North Field Marshal Haig's ' . ;T forces have driven the enemy beyond the Franco-Belgian frontier south of * the Sambre canal and n&w are almost within gun range of Brussels. The Germans are .showing stiffer resistg - "" ance with rear guards, but nevertheless the British are overcoming these efforts and pushing forward.; Large ? quantities' of supplies, including much rolling stock have fallen into the hands of the British. r - Disorderly Retreat. Likewise the French are still in T pursuit of the enemy but before them the German retreat seems to be somewhat disorderly. The enemy is abandoning guns and supplies of all descriptions and in some instances entire railroad trains have been left behind. All the enemy's lines of communication now have been captured except the road leading northward from Mezieres. Gen. Pershing's troops continue to make progress on both sides of the Meuse river and the American Second army has launched an attack west of the Moselle river and gained its obobjectives. On the Meuse the town of Stenay has been captured by the ^Americans after violent opposition. In the Moselle sector several woods and heights have been/ cleared of the enemy by the Americans including tne ?5013 lie wavuic, uuuu me UV11.Uem fringe of which the great German fortress of Metz is only ten miles distant. Signing of Abdication. . London, Nov. 10.?2:04 p. m.? Emperor William signed a letter of of abdication on Saturday morning at the German grand headquarters, in the presence of Crown Prince Frederick William and Field Marshal Hindenberg, according to a dispatch from Amsterdam to the Exchange Telegraph Company. The German Crown Prince signed his renunciation to the throne shortly afterwards. It is believed that King Ludwicg of Bavaria and King Frederick August of Saxony also have aodicated. . The ex-Kaiser and the former Crown Prince were expected to take leave of their troops on Saturday, but nothing has been settled regarding their future movements. Before placing his signature to the document an urgent message from Philipp Scheidmann, who was a Socialist member without portfolio, in r V Wt the imperial cabinet, was handed to the Emperor. He read it with a shiver. Then he signed the paper, saying: "It may be for the good of Germany.*' The Emepror was deeply moved. He consented to sign the document only when he got the news of the latest events in the empire. Serious food difficulies are expected in Germany owing to the stoppage of trains. The council of the regency will take the most drastic steps to reestablish order.
