You know that when they tell you an article is worth so much, that it is worth everv cent of it. The / prizes will be on display soon. Don't fail to see pm . , ' | VXJ.VXAA* THE REASON FOR THE CONTEST. Everything has a reason. The reason for this contest is this: Last fall when cotton was selling for two or three cents a pound less than it cost to raise it, a large numbef of our best subscribers could not pay for their paper. The Herald came to their rescue and carried their subscriptions over until this fall, with the result that we now have a great many whose subscriptions are in arrears. Aslo we have decided to add to our subscription lists ONE THOUSAND NEW SUBSCRIBERS this fall. We are willing to divide profits and give to the young ladies in this and adjoining counties VALUABLE PRIZES OR COLD CASH for doing some work for us. ; f Be Awarded On pppmhpr 4th VVVlftlMVl AMI n.
