Robinson Gets Long Sentence. Saturday afternoon Judge Rici heard the motion for a new trial b] the attorneys for Arthur Robinson the white man convicted last weel of manslaughter, and refused t< grant the defendant a new trial Following his refusal to grant a nev trial Judge Rice imposed the sen tence on Robinson, giving him li ? years in the State penitentiary. Officers from the State prison ar rived in the city this morning an( took Robinson back to Columbia t< enter upon his term of service.
