______________ ' -f .< BANDITS CONVICTED. :4 ' Three White Sulphur Springs RobjO? bers Sentenced. Gainesville, Ga., March 3.?George . j Anderson, alias "Old Bill" Miner, George Hanford and J. E. Hunter, accused of being members of the eane which held ud the United States fast mail, a Southern railway train, I near White Sulphur Springs, Ga., on the morning of February 18, were eonvicted at a special term of the Hall county superior court held here to-day and sentenced to prison, An-j d'erson for 20 years and Hanford and Hunter for 15 years each. Got Off Light. After being sentenced the prisoners arose and thanked the judge for not imposing heavier sentences, Anderson saying: "Thank, you judge. Robbery 9 is robbery and here's another case." The selection of a jury, introduction of testimony, argument by attorneys and rendering of a verdict required only a little more than eight I Hours, upon Deing arraigueu auuoison entered a plea of not guilty, but Hanford and Hunter pleaded guilty and turned State's evidence. On the witness stand they stated that Anderson was the leader of the gang . which was organized in Pennsylvania, they said, with the avowed purpose of committing a train robbery in this State. Another Sentence. Anderson is wanted in Victoria, B. C., to serve the remainder of a term i for train robbery, but his conviction here means that he will not be surrendered to the Canadian authorities Until after the completion of his sentence in Georgia. As he is 65 years old, he probably will never be required to complete his term in Canada. The robbery in which the prisoners were implicated took place soon after midnight February 18. Five men, for two of whom the officers are still searching, boarded the train and blew open a safe in the express car, securing about $2,000. Only two shots were fired during the hold-up and fthey were for the purpose of frightMiner naaepncprs who left the fears II; to ascertain the reason for the stopj*i ping of the train. The bandits made their escape but five days later two ^ of them, Hanford and Hunter, were t eaptured not far from the scene of H' the robbery. The next day Anderson ? fell into the clutches of the officers. Not a Word of Scandal marred the call of a neighbor on Mrs. W. P. Spangh, of Manville, Wyo., x who said: "sfce told me Dr. King's f; New Life Pills had cured her of obstinate kidney trouble, and made her feel like a new woman." Easy, but sure remedy for stomach, liver and ^"kidney troubles. Only 25c. at Peof' pies Drug Co., Bamberg, S. C. g Women in Jail for Murder. ' Ite- Charlotte, N. C., the supposed wife broke '* - down and admitted that she had never married him, but had married I Archie Dick, a Texas ranchman, in Eufaula, Ala., her home, six years ago. A telegram from the chief of police of Eufaula states that the woman is from one of the best families in that town. The two women were found in a room adjoining the one in which Winn was found in a dying condition with the door between the rooms unlocked. They deny having heard the pistol shot. There's a better way. Let Dr. King's New Discovery cure you at home. "It cured me of lung trouble," writes W. R. Nelson, of Calamine, Ark., "when all else failed and I gained 47 pounds in weight. It's surely the king of all cough and lung cures." Thousands owe their lives and health to it. It's positively guaranteed for coughs, colds, lagrippe, asthma, croup?all throat and lung troubles. 50c. and $1 .00. Trial bottle free at Peoples i Drug Co., Bamberg, S. C. Plead for Mercy.
