City council is having a ditch dug which is to carry the water from the Northern part of town to the Edisto river. Last week we stated that work was being done on the main ditch which drains the town, but it was decided to dig this new ditch on the other side of town rather than attempt to deepen the main ditch. This new ditch will be expensive, but there has been considerable complaint as to drainage from citizens on the North side of the railroad, and it is hoped this new ditch will remedy matters. We would be glad if our subscribers would watch carefully the dates on the label of their paper. Always look at it the next week after you pay money and see that we have you credited with the amount paid. Mistakes will happen in the best regulated establishments, and The Herald is no exception to the rule. We are very careful with our mailing lists and use every effort to avoid mistakes, but one little figure will change your date a whole year. Our citizens should assist the committee who are out securing homes for delegates by readily entertaining as many as circumstances will warrant. All of us should want to impress visitors favorably, and in no way can we do this better than by opening our homes and treating them nicely. Don't embarrass the committee in their labors, but help them out. County Board Meeting.
