'0- ":;' y However, an old bachelor in the western part of the State roars back: 'No . taste to it! By the great hen feather in f-r V Cupid's dart, the girl must be color : v' blind in her palate. They tell us, those ' who have tried it?we haven't?that it tastes like double distilled essence of honey spread on pumpkin pin. Away back in the dim and joyful years long ago, before we lost our teeth and our cinch on the beauty prize, the prettiest girl in all the world told us that it felt Hke'a covey of frightened quail flying ' out of each ear and ended up with a sen- : sation similar to that which might be ' produced by a flock or angels pouring a golden stream of molasses down , one's back. There is good custom obtains in China that ought to be introduced here, and that is that every one pays his debts by the first of each January. How much t>etter it is to begin the new year free from debt. If you are so involved that it is not possible to pay up entirely by that date why not wipe out a portion and begin the Hew Year with empty hands, perhaps, but with a stout heart and a determination to get free from debt What jur people need is to get on a cash basis. A GRIM TRAGEDY is daily enacted, in thousands of homes, as death claims, in each one, another victim of consumption or pneumonia. But when coughs and colds are properly treated, the tragedy is averted. F. G. Huntley, of Oaklandon, Ind., writes: 'My wife had consumption and three doctors gave her up. Finally she took Dr. King's Hew Discovery for consumption, coughs and colds, which cured her, and today she is well and strong." It kills the zerras of all diseases. One dose relieves. Ryan, the new British naval attache, said at a dinner in Washington, according to the Washington Post: "The strength of the heads of some of our old-school farmers is quite incredible. "At a harvest supper, a feast similar in its way to your Thanksgiving dinner, there was anold farmer who drank a good ileal of champagne. The moment his glass was filled he would toss it off, and then, of course, it would be filled again. "But the old fellow grew quieter and quieter the more champagne he drank. A frown settled on his forehead, and his eyes flashed angrily under his heavy gray brows. "Finally, when the waiter filled his glass with wine for the twelfth or thirteenth time, he shook his head and said: " 'James, when are yon going to put the whiskey on the table?
