A negro boy about sixteen years old,
* named Johnnie Green, was arrested at
Govan last Monday. Green worked for
J. P. Mathenv, Esq., until a week or so
ago, and while there stole about thre dollars
in money from Mr. Matheny. He
also stole Mr. W. A. Klauber's bicycle
from Mr. G. A. Jennings's front piazza
on Railroad Avenue, and skipped out for
Govan, selling the wheel to Mr. Faust in
Pthat section. He was put in jail Tuesday,
but has not been tried when we go to
press. Magistrate Lightsey will hear the
case of stealing the money, and Green
will no doubt get 30 days on the chain

bicycle is equal to the offence of horse
stealing, so this case will be tried in the
Circuit Court. Mr. Klauber recovered
the wheel,
