On April 150th and May 1st .there
will be held in the Barnwell High
School building a clinic for operation

“There have been indications*during
recent months of a coming impetus in
the industrial development of South
Carolina. We .believe that the next
few years will witness a conaiderablo

sils ami adenoids. Pl\ C. W. Kollock,
of Charleston, who i’-, one of the fore
most specialists in these diseases in
tin* State, will have charge of the op
erations, there will l>e trained nurses
to assist and to look after the patients
until they can he safely removed to
,their home-. The local physicians
will also be on hand to add their as
sistance. This clinic will be held un
der the auspices of the County Medi
cal Association and the Barnwell
County Chapter of the American Red
Crass. ,
The way in which you can secure
the services of this clinic foi your
children is to see your family physi
cian, who, as a member of the County
Medical Association, knows whether
your child needs this attention.' If
you have reason to suppose that your
child has adenoids or diseased tonsils,
register' ymir child’s name*Tfnd par

of the Red Cro-s, or file an application
with them at once, i fie patients will

their applications are received. Ask
for full particulars from Mr. - Perry A.

Barnwell, or Mrs. A. A. Lemon. Only
a limited number of patients can be
handled in the two days of the clinic.
It is, therefore, necessary, for you to

The statement !»• Mr. Lee. who by
the way. is a South Carolina product,
is worthy of mote than passing con
sideration by our people and by our
law-making bodies. Here is a busi-
nest enterprise going ahead investing
a million and a quarter dollars to,man
ufacture a product for which there is
no present market. It makes the in
vestment on faith faith in the future
of South Carolina. And at the same
time R adds a million and a quarter
dollars to the taxable wealth of the
State.
The power company declares its
intentions of doing “our part toward
promoting that expansion.’’ Of course
it is readily understood that if this in
dustrial expansion does come the
power comp,my will find market for it*

In an editorial appearing April 1st.
the Spartanburg Herald says: . .
“South Carolina must realize that
there is no conflict between agricul
ture and industrial development.
They should go hand in hand '
f The burdens of taxation should be
borne equally by the farmers and by
all industries.
And again says the Herald, truly:
“Agriculture is more dependent upon
Industry than indit. try is upon iigi'i-
