Murphy, of Barnesville, Ga., writing in The Atlanta Journal, be lieves, as does The People, that the negro migration is going to benefit the South. His communication has attracted a great deal of attention and we reproduce it herewith. Mr Murphy points out that the negro has never developed any section, North or South, but on the other hand absolute dependence on him has retarded devuopment of the •South’s agricultural resources. His article is as follows: “I am not at all alarmed by the exodus of negro labor from the south to the north. On the con trary, I can see in the movement a blessing in disguise. . Nor do I be lieve that the development of the agneuJtural interest of the south is dependent upon negro labor; in fad, I believe that our heretofore ab solute dependence upon negro he* retarded that development of agnnsJturaJ have hoped fee.
