SUBSCRIPTION RATES: One Year -_1 $1.60 Six Months J ' .90 Three Months .60 (Strictly in Advance.) THURSDAY, MAY 10TH, 1923. Mother’s Day. The 13th of the month is usually considered an unlucky day, but this month it should prove the exception, for it has been set aside as “Mother’s Day,’’ and what day could possibly be considered unlucky that is as sociated with that dear one? The observance ot this <?w Is a matter of only a few years , but ever sinfce its inception it has grown in the hearts of every man, woman and child in Amercia who loves and re spects “Mother.’’ On that day we are supposed to wear a white flower in honor of “Mother” if it be that she has been called to her heavenly home. Those of us who are so for tunate as still to have her with us on earth should wear a colored flower for her. If she lives in a distant city, send her a message of love. Many churches in Barnwell County will have special services for Mother's Day, which is nest Sunday, the 13th.
