The Highway Commission gives the owner until Feb. 1st to procure tne necessary license and ob tain the lieemie plate.to be display ed on the back of vehicle, the law governing the operation of motor vehicles upotv the public highway as passed by the State Legislature^ 1922 Code, Vol. Ill, section 3062, reads as follows: “It shall be unlawful for any per son or persons, without securing reg istration for license, as provided in this article, to run, drive or operate any motor vehicle on or along or across any public road, street or highway in the State of South Caro lina without having displayed at all times to public view, in the rear of said vehicle, a license number as shall be acquired from the Highway Department under the law providing for such license number. Any vio lation of the provisions of this sec tion shall be deemed a misdemeanor and shall lie punished by a fine of not less than ten ($10.00) dollars nor more than twenty-five ($2. r ».00) dollars, or imprisoned for not more than fifteen (L r >) days for each of fense.’’ Therefore, all can* operating on the public highway after Feb. 1st, 192.'’., without the proper license numlier displayed will be subject tn prosecution under the above section of the ('.sle of Laws: C.
