Well, all that we are fcoinif to say just now is that he’ll have to be some little “opposer.” The esteemed Allendale County Citizen is authority for the state ment that a radio station with a ran're of twenty-eijrht thousand miles is to be erected at Allendale. Inas much as the world is only about 25,- '000 miles in circumference, Allen dale must intend to flirt with Venus. For two or three days last week The Augusta Chronicle failed to pub lish statistics under the caption, “Re ceipts and Sales,” figures from w’hich were quoted in those columns a couple of week* ago, showing a dis crepancy between sales and ship ments of about 4,000 bales in five days. The table was printed all right, but for some reason no figures ware given. Did Sie People’s edi torial, a ropy of which was sent to the Augusta paper, have anything to do with this? And. by the way, no answer has yet been made to the mtanes contained therein nor has any attempt been made to disabuse the public mind of the suspicion that cartain cotton factors make a prac- tica of lending their customers’ cot ton to the mills, thereby keeping them out of the market with the conse quent price depression. Why this silence? In the words of the Jap anese school boy. “We ask to know.” The Barnwell Methodist Church has secured the services of the Rev. Char lie D. Tillman,' an evangelist and singer of note, to assist the pastor in revival efforts, beginning Marche 12. Mr. Tillman was here years aga with his father, who was also a k preacher, and conducted meeting of such mag nitude that the Methodists of the town organized themselves into a church as the result. The present Methodist church building was erect ed “T” shaped in honor of the Rev, Mr. Tillman. The evangelist will be accompanie by his daughter, Mrs. Jewel Tillm Burns, who is also a .singer and pianist of note. The County Pension Board has j been instructed by the State Pension Commissioners to secure the Christ ian names of all Confederate Veter ans' widows.
