Williston, 1 July 9.—()Special.)— Seldom, if ever, has a more enjoy- abble affair been held in Williston than the Fried Chicken supper with alt of the proper accoutrements given by the Williston branch of the Junior Order, our youngest fraternal organization but which gives promise of being one of our best. This banquet was held in Rountree Hall the evening of the Fourth. No buainesR was attempted as everybody was having too good a time to stop. Due to the untiring efforts on the part of Messrs. Lan Quattlcbaum, George Cadden, L M. Pearson and other membeis of the committee an elaborate supper was served to approximately fifty per sons. Th^ following out-of-town guests were there. The Junior Order, U. A. M., Williston Branch, will meet in Roun tree Hall every first and third Mon day mights. Misa Louise Black entertained Monday night in honor of her guest, Miss Helen Jonet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iredel Jones, of Columbia. Dancing was enjoyed by her many guests. Delightful refreshments consisting of punch and sandwiches were served on the wir?e and cool porch of the attractive Black home Mrs. McNab and Miss McNab have been visiting Mrs.. McNab’s daughter, Mrs. G. W. Whitaker. While returning to Springfield the afternoon of the 4th, after attending the Williston-St. Matthews game Mr Fulmer’s car turned over near the Edisto river and hurt Mr. Fulmer and several of his friends. We hope no one was seriously injured. Miss Eloise Morris and sister af Barnwell are visiting Mr. J. I). Ken nedy this week. Mr. . E. L. Merritt of Augusta, Gn. and little son Neal spent Tuesday with Mr. F. T. Merritt. Mrs. It. E. Bott of Washington. D. C., who will be remembered in Williston as Miss Mattie Lou Hair, is visiting her mother, Mrs. W. M. Hair. Miss Martha Switzer of Woodruff is visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Pear son. .! Rev. M. T. Rankin, a recent grad uate of the. Baptist Seminary of Louisville, is on a visit to his parents, Rev. and Mrs.M. W\ Rankin. Mr. Rankin sails August 27th for Chinh to take up mission work. On his arrival in China he will be married to Miss Valerie Green of Durham, N. C. Senator J. Henry Johnson of Allen dale was a visitor in town last week. Mrs. G. J. Trotti was called to her home in Preston, Maryland, last Fri day, by news of the extreme illness of her mother, Mrs. Mary Parker, who is well known in Williston. The entire community extends to Dr. and Mrs. Trotti their sympathy in their anxiety. Dr. and Mrs. Harry M. Hair of ^ Columbia were visitors in town the 4th and attended the St. Matthews- Williston game.
