Revelation 21:1-14 Is , the passage of Scripture selected for devotional reading. Instead of attempting to re view the lessons of the..quarter it would be of great interest ,and profit to enter Into a detailed study of this Scripture. The following outline may >e helpful. I. The New Heaven and the New Earth (vv. 1, 2); II. The New People (vv. 3-8); 111.' The New Jeru salem (vv. 9-14). The one only book which tells about him is the Bible. No one can call himself educated who is ignorant of the Bible. VI. God rested when His work of creation was done. On this basis He has established the law of labor and rest. The obligation to cease from la bor Is that one may remember God. VII. The church is an organism as the human body. In order that there may be real helpful co-oi>eration there must be membership In that body. VIII. Jesus should be welcomed as a guest into every home. He is an ex ample of an obedient son In the home. IX. The most important question is not “Who Is my neighbor?’’ but “To w’hom can I be a neighbor?” Being a neighbor is seeing those about who need help and rendering such help in U>vlng syiTjpGTfiy. X. The Christian is n cltlzgn ns well as a church member. Intelligent Chris tians will show proi>er loyalty to the state. XI. Or Just as often It Is, “I want whjte-shelled eggs; we don’t care for those' with brown shells.” Each group is confident they are In the right, but extended investigations made at some of the agricultural experiment statics, In which many analyses were made of eggs from different kinds of hens, have shown plainly that there a^e no uniform variations in the physi cal properties and chemical composi tion of brown-shelled as compared with White-shelled eggs. Such tests justify the statement that the eggs of any given breed of hens, whatever the color of the shells, are, on an average, as nutritious as those of another breed, provided the eggs are of the same size and freshness and the fowls are equal ly well fed, say specialists of the Uni ted States Department of Agriculture. The color of the shells, whatever itt reason. Is a feature which has some ef fect on the market value of eggs of do mestic poultry, although not upon their food value, the brown-shelled eggs bringing the higher price, for instance, in the Boston market and the white- shelled eggs In the New York market, in England the preference Is decidedly In favor of the tinted eggs. Such local differences probably originated In the fact that some one breed of hens was once chiefly used in a given' region ami Its type of eggs set the standard there. The color of the egg content is also a matter of Interest with respect to market value and domestic uses. Raw egg white has a more or less greenish tinge, which Is apparently Influenced somewhat by the character of the feed, though no-specific coloring matter has been isolated from It. When the albu men is coagulated by heat in cooking the color varies from white to pale greenish or yellowish tones, hard to de fine, yet distinct. There Is a belief that eggs'with shells of the same color should show the same color Id the cooked whites and that the cooked al bumen of white-shelled eggs Is decid edly whiter than that of eggs with tinted sheila.
