The prisoners are confined at nipht in one lar^e tent and a steel cape. The tent has a wooden floor and canvas Walls and is not ventilat ed at all, especially in view of the fact that so many of the prisoner^ have to sleep in so small a space. The same is also true of thp steel cape. We believe that this habit of leavinp the canvas walls down at nipht is a menace to the health of the prisoners and we recommend that the side walls at least be rolled up to pive the necessary ventilation at nipht and that they be rolled all the w»y up in the day time, in order to allow the same to be aired out. We further recommend that the beddinp used in the camp be hunp out daily. This could easily be done by the pris oners themselves, or by the camp trusteed We find the kitchen in an un sanitary conditio^ and we recommend that it be screened immediately. _ . ’ y . , /■ n. VVe recommend that the Coun ty Board of Commissioners continue to furnish the Sheriff with gasoline Tbr-his car to be used in.the discharge of his official business, but inasmuch as the Supervisor’s salary has been raised, we recommeTid that the gaso line allowance heretofore^gi^en him be discontinued. We wish to especially thank the Presiding Judge for the excellent charge piven the Grand Jury, which helped us wonderfully in the discharge of our duties.
