mation has been taken from the re
port:
There were enrolled in the public
schools of the county for the year
ending with June €.817 white pupils,
with an average attendance of 4,831.
The average number of pupils per
school was 84, with an average attend
ance of 60. _ >
The total amount paid, white teach
ers for the year was $78,983.12, the
men teachers receiving $25,276.94 and
the women teachers $54,725.19 of this
amount. The average expenditure per
pupil according to enrollment was $15.
The total revenue for the schools
was $114,558,08 for the county of
which amount $20,740 was received
from the state as state aid. The total
expenditures for all purposes was
$109,624.58.
The majority of the school districts
of the county have voted an addition
al levy of from two to eight mills dur
ing the past few weeks for the pur
pose of raising funds to provide in
creased salaries for the teachers and
for school improvements
