""H\ One of the most serious problems faced by the American Red Cross forces in Roumania is the care of hordes of refugees from the border in Crimea who are rushing into dis tricts of Roumania where typhus and smallpox are raging. Constanza and Galatz are full of these refugees and thousands have arrived in Bucharest, severely testing the limited resources of the relief workers. The volume of American Red Cross relief supplies pouring into Siberia is shown hy the fact that recently five steamers were simultaneously dis charging cargoes for the Red Cross at Vladivostok, one of them bringing a shipment of 1,865 cases. Five thousand Czecho-Slovak sol diers, veterans of years of terrible fighting and hardship foj^wing their desertion from the Austrian Army to fight in the Cause of freedom, are circ ling the globe, homeward-bound to their new republic, under the escort of American Red Croat workers.
