New Printing Concern Getting Ready for Business in N. C. The many Barnwell friends of Mr. A. D. Pate, who received his early training in The People office, will read^ with interest the following item from the Burlington (N. C.) News: There was organized in this city last week the Burlington Printing Com pany, a new corporation for the oper ation of a printing and publishing business. The office of this plant will be in the handsome Cardwelf building on the comer of Davis and Worth Streets. This building has been especially ar ranged for the plant. This company has purchased the modern and up-to-oate plant of the Southern Christian Publishing Com* pany of Elon College, including their two-story building, snd has moved the equipment to Burlington. Besides this they have purchased the plant of the Pate Printing CoaHpaay, and will move this equipment and place the twe plants m «f the hm of w’ork that has been going to large cities in the past. At a meeting of the stock-holders of the new company last week the fol lowing officers and directors were elected: J. M. Fix, President; A. D. Pate, Vice President and General Man ager; C. 4 B. Riddle, Secretary and Treasurer; Directors as follow’s: J. Ml Fix, A. D. Pate, C. B. Riddle, J. 0. At kinson and 0. F. Crowson. Mr. Riddle is editor of The Chris tian Sun and has moved the publica tion of his paper to Burlington.
