Harry Woodward, at Camp Se- vjer., a A carload of 68 hogs was shipped from Dunbarton one day last week by Mrs. L. X. Owens, Messrs. B. F. An derson, T. A. Greene, and A. R. Dun bar. Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Davies and chil dren, of Barnwell, and Mr. Luther Stuart, of Camp Jackson, motored ov er to Augusta and Camp Hancock Sunday. The annual concert by the music pupils of Miss Nonie Best will be giv en in the school auditorium, Friday afternoon at 5 o*c!ock. The public is cordially invited. 4 Miss Louise Duncan has returned ovne after an extended visit to her brother, Mr. W. H. Duncan, Jr., at Camp Sevier. She was met in Co lumbia by her father. Local talent of a high order will fur nish entertainment, which will con sist of vocal, instrumental numbers and reading. Everybody is invited. A Church Dedicstion. On May 4th., which is the first Sun day, the good people in the Pleasant Hill community, which is one of the best in the county, will dedicate their new church. Rev. S. P. Hair, now of Fountain Inn, but a native of this county will preach the dedicatory ser mon. Rev. D. W. Heckle, of Healing Springs will offer the prayer of dedi cation. Both of these gentlemen are former partors of this church. A Sad Death. Blackville, April 15.—Eunice, the little- four-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Still, was burned to death at the home of her parents on April 5th. The little girl was stand ing near the fire in one of the bed rooms, in company with her mother and oldest brother, when her dress was ignited. Although the flames were extinguished almost immediate ly, she was so badly burned that a physician’s skill and the* tender nurs ing of loving hands were unavailing. Death claiming the pure white spirit ten hours later. The funeral services were conduct ed at the home by the Rev. D. W. Heckle, of Blackville, her body being laid to rest in the Friendship ceme tery.
