Ground has been broken for the new Episcopal rectory here and the work will be pushed to completion. The lot is situated near the new school build ing. Mrs. J. A. Willis entertained a few friends at cards Wednesday afternoon. After enjoying several games, the guests were served with delightful re freshments. ‘ , As the building of the Episcopal rec tory deprived the local team of the old ball diamond, a new one has been con structed on the Aldrich lot at the corner of Main and Marlboro Streets. Miss Fannie Simmons left Wednes day morning for her home in Roseville, Orangeburg County an extended visit to Miss Louise Porter. She was ac companied home by Miss Porter. The feature of the game was the hitting of the visitors. Barker for Fairfax was knocked from the hox. Barnwell has a fast ball team and has lost-only three games this season.
