Kearse, an elderly and excellent lady of large family connections in this county, died near here and was buried yesterday. Will Speak at Allendale. Gen. U. R. Breaks, clerk of the su preme court, has accepted an invita tion to deliver an address at Allendale May 10. The invitation was extended by member^ of Hampton Legion chap ter, U. D. C. Mr. Allen Won’t Run. Mr. P. E. Allen, who was- a visitor here Monday, stated to a representative of The People that he would not be a candidate for the office of Supervisor this summer. WHEREAS, a petition has been sub mitted to the Board of Trustees of Barnwell Graded School District, signed by one-third of the resident electors- and one third of the free holders in the said District, praying that the election be ordered for the purpose to submit to the resident qual ified electors of the said School Dis trict, the question whether, for the purpose of purchasing grounds and building a school building or buildings, shall issue coupon bonds to the amount, as provided by law, of twenty-five thousand ($25,000) dollars and; WHEREAS, under and by virture jof the laws of the State of South Carolina in such cases made and provided, the Board of Trustees of Barnwell Graded School District, has ordered the elec tion to be held on the 28th day of March, 1914, upon such question. Now, therefore, the qualified elec tors, residing within the bounds of the school district, are hereby notified that the said election, u^on said question, will be held, according to law, on the 28th day of March, 1914. at the Court House of Barnwell County, within said school district; and Wm.
