Mr. Gordon Hagood, who recently
suffered a slight stroke of paralysis,
was aimed to a hospital in Columbia
Thursday afternoon. He stood the
trip well and reports from his bedside
are to the effect that he is doing as well
as can expected.
The House passed the general appro
priation bill Monday night without the
reduction of £ single item as reported
by the ways and means committee, ex-
cept'to disallow the suggested payment
of 15,000 for the Todd and Benson
plans for the State House improve
ments.
We have been informed that the
trestle over Saikehatchie swamp on the.
Bamberg, Ehrhardt & Waite rboro rail
road wilt be about completed by the
end of the week. Forces are working
on the trestle night and day, and in
less than two months it is hoped to com
plete the laying of the rail to Bamberg,
