Easterling, of Au gusta, have moved to Barnwell to live. Mr. Easterling has rented a farm near town and will engage in farming. Barnwell is glad to welcome them. Capt. Isaac A. After all had exhausted their voacbulary of jaby-talk, a little snow-white decorated go-cart, laden with many dainty articles for baby was pushed into the parlor by little Albert Horace Ninestein, where the mother received them for baby. Mr. D. J. Another veteran of the Lost Cause. Q f has answered the last roll call and crossed over the river to join the com rades gone before. Mr. D. J. Hair, aged years, died at his home in Rosemary township Sunday after an illness of only one week, following a stroke of paralysis on Sunday, 24th ult. Mr. Hair was a member of Capt. Kennedy's Company, 2nd regiment, S. C. artillery, and through those bloody years of civil strife he faithfully per formed every duty of a soldier and a gentleman. The weary body was tenderly laid to rest Monday morning in the Bates Cemetery, after touching funeral ser vices conducted by the Rev. D. W. Heckle, at the Rosemary Baptist Church. Negro Charged with Theft of Cotton Eluded Officera Tuesday Night. Considerable excitement was caused here Tuesday night when an attempt was made to arrest Joe Fike, a negro. Fike, it is alleged, stole several bales of cotton last Fall from Messrs. T. D. j Creighton and C. C. Langley, for whom , he was working. Fike secured bond epen again in this county.
