Stevenson, chairman of the special committee of seven ap pointed by the State Democratic com mittee of South Carolina leccntly, to conduct an investigation into the nt maty election for governor held August -7. spent Monday in confer ence there with W .15. Wilson, ,Jr., of itock Hill and T. B. Butler of Gaff ney regarding plans for the proposed investigation. Just prior to leaving the city for Atlantic City, he dictated a letter to the Democrats of South Carolina, In which he mapped out the line of the inquiry and called up on all good citizens to aid he com mittee In its work. The assistance of the press of the State is requested in order that ample publicity may be given the club rolls of the various counties with the view to forrotting out as many of the irregularities as possible. The fact is emphasized that the primary system of the state must he preserved and that the in- duiry must he prosecuted to the end, regardless of whom it may hurt whether Junes or Please.
