To show the value placed on selected good seed by Western corn growers w’e take from a Missouri paper the follow ing Item: After an exhibit of corn at the Iowa Agricultural College, the premium ears were put up at auction. The ear of corn that won irst prize sold for $11: 100 ears that won a $2,000 premium sold for an aggregate pf $102. One breeder that had forty ears of corn on exhibi tion bid them hack at $36; another man paid $1$ for ten ears, while another ten ears sold for $12.- Due collection of twenty ears brought $24..
