Mr. Hlmma got hold ef these lettera In some way about as soon at any one else and sent bla denial ef having written them and Interpretation to everyone of the forty-one preclnets In the county except one by 10a-aa^wn the day of the election. Ail of the other candidates for clerk of Court were affected and worried by them, as the campaign up< to that time had been a very pleasant and friendly one.
